Saltbreaker is no stranger to TSMM's blog and playlists, and I can't see that changing anytime soon. Otherwise known as John Hanson from Detroit, the moniker is his electrocoustic instrumental project charting and building tellurian bridges between the ambient, new age and neoclassical multiverses.

Despite having his head in the cosmos half the time, Hanson's sound is also firmly rooted in planet earth's more pastoral ends, and perhaps none more so than this, his latest release.
The track title somewhat ruins the surprise, but true to form our feathered, red breasted friend provides a rare vocal addition from Saltbreaker that rides the blissful ambient new age breeze that wafts through the speakers and hangs in the air like the warm summer daydreams of your frosty Northern Hemisphere reality. If you're residing in the southern half of the planet then your new Sunday morning soundtrack has just arrived. The flute for its part melts into the ambient pads, giving a somewhat balletic grace and well meaning, starry eyed vibe which might be too sweet for some, but is currently my sonic palliative of choice to counter 2026's rocky geopolitical start. Tune in and chill out.
