The cover for Operator's "Go Take a Nap" single, showing a pink tree with "Go Take a Nap" text, under dark rain clouds, shelters a bench. Raindrops fall around, creating a calm, surreal scene.

There's not to much to tell about Operator, mostly because they don't want it told - their online presence is deliberately vague which, although frustrating for a blogger, I sort of respect as then the music is not coloured by stories and history. Anyway they seem to have their s*^t together with a nice studio website, and they're obviously putting some time into learning their studio craft.

The aptly titled "Go Take a Nap" is one of a long line of nice vibin', good natured downtempo tracks that Operator has released in the last couple of years, and although it's production is throwback loop based downtempo/chill out, they've somehow given the track a modern halo that shines a contemporary light on the track.

The sounds of nature & radiant synth tones get things rolling before gently struck wooden percussion signals the beats ahead. The almost 90's digi-dancehall bassline that's been repurposed for sofa-bound pursuits is the tracks pulse and a warm frame for the the effected flute refrain and the occasional pads that simultaneously provide vaguely haunting and warm vibes and background haziness. If you're in need of some classic sounding chillout to take things easy to then tune in and drop out.
