Nomieye is Rosie Turton, and Rosie Turton is Nomieye, and both have been floating, swinging and grooving around TSMM headquarters since Turton's auspicious Rosie's 5ive debut EP from a few years back. Refreshingly, she seems in no hurry to put out releases, preferring an algorithm displeasing, critic-approving, every couple of years or so, EP rather than LP, quality over quantity approach.

Mostly apparent to her newsletter followers (tip), but also evident in her collaboration with London soul girl Miryam Solomon, she also has a fondness for modular synthesis and less gravity-bound, ambient jazz sounds, and this is where Nomieye comes to the fore. It's a handy moniker that shouldn't overly disturb her jazz-focussed followers, and I'm happy to report there's a trademark, presumably another all-killer no-filler, Nomieye-guided EP on the way -Tapestry of an Echo, scheduled for a July 10th release and I'm excited, the first teaser, "The Earth in All Conscience" is sounding great.
The track starts with an electronic whisper that floats through the speakers like a shyly shared secret. Neighbours in the synth rack then add some star-gazing twinkle, and are soon joined by some bells imported from far-flung, Eastern meditation temples to add a spiritual/new age infusion. The perfect electroacoustic bed made, Turton duets with her alter ego; her 'bone instantly tuning into the gently cascading, universal consciousness exploring frequencies, and turning up the serenity to eleven. This is seriously calming, beautifully crafted, reflection encouraging music for a world gone crazy. Only thirty-six days to go until the EP.
