With the help of the respected Gearbox crew, Liza Lo leapt into the folky singer-songwriter world last year to some acclaim with her debut album, Familiar. Well, she's either super keen or sitting on a hard drive or two of music, because she's back already with a new single, and it's lovely.

Lo's gentle acoustic guitar and lightly bowed fiddle from Owen Spatford, ease us into the song's dawn, the perfect song-rise before the distinctive, warm glow of Lo's vocals radiate through the speakers to opine on the joys of taking satisfaction, or even joy, in life's minutiae: the sun on your face whilst waiting for the bus, nature's intervention in urban spaces, tender moments in all their forms or even the smell of toast and coffee in the morning, and I couldn't agree more.
It's too easy to get lost in the relentless stream of doom-scrolled gloom and the pressures of making ends meet, and this warm, timely, acoustic reminder from Lo with her disarming and charming vocals, Spatford's bowing, Sean Rogan's acoustic guitar assistance and Chris Rabbits with some light touch bass is a timely reminder to take a moment or twenty during your day, look around, and see the light in the often imagined shadows - it will do you the world of good. They're quite the folk quartet, so look out for the live shows.
