The Slow Music Movement Blog

Reading about music is a bit like looking at pictures of food - not nearly half as much fun as getting involved, so we scribble a brief intro to hopefully whet your appetite but strongly advise you just hit play and make up your own mind.
There's a lot of music to check these days & hopefully you'll find these recommendations a handy filter.
Trust your ears, not opinions.

Wellen Voyage Futur - Wellen (Ethereal Music Corp) Futur (Ethereal)

What Your Ears Say & The Cover Looks Like

What We Say

Take a trip back in chill out time with Voyage Futur to the early 80s. The neo-liberal cabal had yet to fully indoctrinate the masses with capitalistic fervour, the climate still stood a chance & the smouldering embers of the counter cultural revolution were hunkered up in the still plentiful, as yet unexploited areas of natural beauty, embracing the dawn of synthesized music to project the New Age resistance along secret ley lines into the cold heart of Babylon. The struggle is real & nearly lost, tune into the ambient resistance & don't go easily.

What The Release Notes Say

The past works of Viennese world-builder Voyage Futur have mapped places (Secret Earth), spaces (Inner Sphere), and phenomenon (Virtual Moonlight), but their latest zooms out and up for a sky’s eye view of planetary fantasy: Wellen.

German for ‘waves,’ the album’s 12 tracks ebb and flow in cinematic tides of mandala electronics, utopian fusion, and elevated ambience, shaded in gradients of DX7. Voices, mallets, strings, and bass slide and stretch like liquid plastics, tracing liminal landscapes of sunset shores under pixelated stars. It’s music both lush and lost in time, remote but rapturous, lit by the warmth of futures past.
