The Slow Music Movement Blog

Mostly we put our daily recommendations here for the blog readers among you, although occasionally we go longform.
Reading about music is a bit like looking at pictures of food - not nearly half as much fun as getting involved, so we scribble a brief intro to hopefully whet your appetite but you're better off just hitting play. Not very "slow" I know but there's a lot of music to check these days & hopefully you'll find the recommendations a handy filter.
Trust your ears, not opinions.

Various Artists - Living Drone, Edition 2 (FVeld)

What Your Ears Say & The Cover Looks Like

What We Say

I was attracted to this playlist project by the Botanical Sound tracks which use plant's natural electricity to manipulate the samples to soothing floratronic effect, but the extended playlist co-ordinated by Fveld with the artists restfully riffing of the same start & end drone is well worth diving into.

What The Release Notes Say

Living Drone is a living music piece from fveld. This collaborative work of living music is released as editions, gathered and published in its final medium as a streaming playlist.

Inspired by Eluvium’s Shuffle Drones, Living Drone is released as a playlist to be played on shuffle with crossfading enabled. Each piece contributed to the Living Drone project begins and ends with the same drone, connecting disparate pieces from artists between editions and offering a unique performance of the piece each time it is played.

To contribute to an edition of Living Drone, you can download the necessary files here  fveld.com/living-drone

============

fveld is a music label dedicated to living music; releasing interactive, generative, location-based, and all other types of non-linear, infinite or ever-changing audio works.
