Reading about music is a bit like looking at pictures of food - not nearly half as much fun as getting involved, so we scribble a brief intro to hopefully whet your appetite but you're better off just hitting play. Not very "slow" I know but there's a lot of music to check these days & hopefully you'll find the recommendations a handy filter.

The Sound of the folk underground & lesser known, Independent singer songwriters

Indie Folk, Alt-Folk, Acid Folk, Traditional Folk & Folktronica

Here we explore the world of folk music in all its eclectic glory. Anything goes as long as it's from lesser known artists (no Dylan I'm afraid), not every generic or commercial and recently released. It's all here - indie-folk, alt-folk, psychedelic folk celtic, vocal, instrumental, traditional & folktronic. Just bring a pair of ears and an open mind.

We've also released a couple of well received folk music LPs. The first was a compilation of forward leaning folk which was made The Guardian newspaper'sFolk Album of the Month in May 2021 and more recently a fine LP from UK Alt-Folk artist Ben McElroy which also made The Guardian's Folk Album of the Month, this time in January 2022.
