Welcome to our weekly RSS feed friendly round up of this week's daily music recommendations, just in case you are reducing screen time or don't want to ride the dictatorial algorithmic rollercoasters on social media.
A.A. bondy - Enderness (Fat Possum Records)
After falling in love with the lead single, I'm now also enamored by A.A. Bondy's LP of sad eyed, lo-fi electronic wrapped, soulful indie folk pop, nonchalent world weariness & strangely soothing sardonic social commentary for Fat Possum Records.
Diggory Kenrick & The Prophets - Vengeance (Pressure Sounds)
Deeper than deep, hipper than hipster, righteous not riotous roots and dub reggae from Diggory Kenrick & The Prophets, graced with the sax and flute of Tommy McCook from the evergreen Pressure Sounds.
Joseph Shabason - Anne EP (Western Vinyl)
The official release is tomorrow but 80% of the tracks are available on Bandcamp & I can't wait any longer to highlight the new Joseph Shabason EP on Western Vinyl as he takes his lazy & hazy jazz sax on a further electronic ambient journey whilst embracing the new age of New Age along the way.
Schemes - Schemes (alldayjam)
A perfect fusion of all live hip hop beats, cultured nu-soul, deep jazz flavours, conscious lyrics & all round niceness from Montreal's Schemes for alldayjam.
Native Indian - Vol 1: nature of the Self (Boxout FM)
I'm always happy to find a hip hop LP that fits the Slow Music remit & this doubly so as Native Indian, rather unusually, comes from India. Geography aside check out his conscious & cosmic, futuristic & fresh, psyched & singular sound and big up to one of the homes of the Indian underground Boxout.fm for helping get it out there.
Dennis Young - Visions (Daehanelectronics)
After becoming a No Wave dance music legend Dennis Young from Liquid Liquid then randomly recorded some New Age tape releases with a bit of a NY city snap to them. Thanks to Korean label Daehan Electronics they are now widely available.
Moss Covered Technology - Southern Points (Hibernate)
Serene electronic ambient adventures from the excellently named Moss Covered Technology for Hibernate Recordings. Hear the vines wrapping themselves around empty buildings, green shoots sprouting wherever they feel & the animal kingdom harmoniously repopulating it's surroundings as the earth keeps turning & the traces of a once proud civilisation fade away.
