The Slow Music Movement Blog

Mostly we put our daily recommendations here for the blog readers among you, although occasionally we go longform.
Reading about music is a bit like looking at pictures of food - not nearly half as much fun as getting involved, so we scribble a brief intro to hopefully whet your appetite but you're better off just hitting play. Not very "slow" I know but there's a lot of music to check these days & hopefully you'll find the recommendations a handy filter.
Trust your ears, not opinions.

Singles, Video & EP round up - February 1st, 2022

Greg Dallas - Epsilon Indi Bb (Self Release)

Vertical Divider
Greg Dallas is a musician, great producer and also a genuinely impressive visual artist. I vibe with his paintings and now he's only gone and created my favourite music video of  2022, it's perfect kaleidoscopic eye candy that really makes the good natured frenetic techno shine Definitely not slow in tempo but if you want an audio visual feast from an exciting up and coming multi-disciplinary artist then look no further.

Peter Power - Earth Love (Self Release)

Springtime Norwegian ambient folk, underpinned by the sounds of nature's annual awakening, opens this 3 tracker from Peter Power. As with a lot of Scandinavian related ambient, it doesn't take long to get a bit frostier, but every season has a beauty. The final track is a sprawling 20 minute electroacoustic epic.

Pieta Brown, Bertrand Belin - Ã” Le Coeur (We Are Not Machines Remix by Brett Bullion)[37d03d]

Vertical Divider
Quiet a stunning duet over a faintly smouldering neoclassical ambient landscape pocketed with sparse percussion, barely remembered  keys & two contrasting, yet thankfully united voices. It's a place where no one is in a hurry to say or play anything  and a beautiful sadness hangs heavy in the air.

Tracy Chow - Tempus (Self Release)

Tracy Chow is one of the hardest working women in show business, her releases and collaborations keep coming which can only be a good thing. Here she explores shroom tickled folk realms with subtle hints of space rock for added hazy cosmic effect and then blesses it all with her lovely voice. Turn on and tune in.
