The Slow Music Movement Blog

Mostly we put our daily recommendations here for the blog readers among you, although occasionally we go longform.
Reading about music is a bit like looking at pictures of food - not nearly half as much fun as getting involved, so we scribble a brief intro to hopefully whet your appetite but you're better off just hitting play. Not very "slow" I know but there's a lot of music to check these days & hopefully you'll find the recommendations a handy filter.
Trust your ears, not opinions.

Singles & EPs Round Up - March 10th, 2023

Samatha - Fading Memories (Maitri)

Vertical Divider
I'm generally more of a warm, bubble filled ambient sound bath sort of guy but life is not all radox & relaxing water temperatures, & while Samatha's new tune is more wintry landscapes & brutalist architecture reminiscent, it manages to find the beauty in them & still calm the mind. Find him currently lowering the temperature in the Slow Ambient Playlist.

antarctic Wastelands feat. IKSRE - Orbits (Echoes Blue)

IKSRE & Antarctic Wasteland are really hitting it off in the studio with the angelic vocals once again lending a human warmth & soul to the insentient ambient electronic tones, sadly still unaware of their beauty. Find them both in good company at the Slow Ambient playlist saloon.

Wing Vilma - Bridges, Daisuke Tanabe Rmx (Young Heavy Souls)

Vertical Divider
TSMM blog was an early Vilma adopter, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that Tanabe - one of my favourite Japanese beat producers had flipped the double timing switch on his usual hip hop tempo beats to put a rocket under her "Bridges" tune to send it frenetically careering through space and time. Head over to the End of Week Playlist of weekend primed party bangers to check it out.

The RabbitTs - Signs (Self Release)

There's a purity and charm to The Rabbitts, who aren't really burrowing in any radical new directions but whose  folky, pop tinged vocal tunes have a real integrity & quality, aided here by some perky percussion that provides extra depth as well as gently egging the vocals on. Lovely stuff.
Find the currently folking up the Slow Pop Playlist.
