The Slow Music Movement Blog

Mostly we put our daily recommendations here for the blog readers among you, although occasionally we go longform.
Reading about music is a bit like looking at pictures of food - not nearly half as much fun as getting involved, so we scribble a brief intro to hopefully whet your appetite but you're better off just hitting play. Not very "slow" I know but there's a lot of music to check these days & hopefully you'll find the recommendations a handy filter.
Trust your ears, not opinions.

Richard Norris - Music For Healing

WHAT THE COVER LOOKS LIKE:

WHAT WE SAY:

There have been some great responses to the age of virus from the ambient community but the most consistent has been Richard Norris' Music For Healing series of positive vibration enriched, anxiety releaving, long form ambient works with all profits going to MIND, the mental health charity.
WHAT YOUR EARS SAY:

WHAT THE RELEASE NOTES SAY:

Music For Healing 2 is the second in a series of long form tracks to aid stress and anxiety relief in these challenging times. All profits go to mental health charity MIND. Please help donate to this cause if you can.

I first started writing ambient tracks on a weekly basis about two years ago, as a personal aid to stress and anxiety relief. People mentioned these tracks, the Abstractions series, had helped their mental health issues. The Music For Healing series is being written in response to these challenging times, and hopefully will have a similar anxiety relieving effect. This is the second 20 minute track in this series.

Use them as background ambience, as immersive deep listening, in combination with meditation or any other practice. Music For Healing tracks are crafted and recorded in real time with no Artificial Intelligence involved.
