The Slow Music Movement Blog

Mostly we put our daily recommendations here for the blog readers among you, although occasionally we go longform.
Reading about music is a bit like looking at pictures of food - not nearly half as much fun as getting involved, so we scribble a brief intro to hopefully whet your appetite but you're better off just hitting play. Not very "slow" I know but there's a lot of music to check these days & hopefully you'll find the recommendations a handy filter.
Trust your ears, not opinions.

Recommendations Round Up 6/10/2018

All of our daily recommendations in one weekly, RSS feed friendly, round-up:

Phillip Henry - True North (Dragonfly Roots)

It's safe to say that Phillip Henry is a bona fide slide guitar maestro and this LP distilling ten years of travelling, collaborating & learning is an exercise in focus, musical purity and life's simple joys.

Kikagaku Moyo - Masana Temples (GuruGuru Brain)

Have a freaky Friday with the nothing short of amazing acid folk rock sounds of Japan's Kikagaku Moyo/幾何学模様 on Guruguru Brain. They're on a 35 US/Europe tour in Autumn as well :)

Schizo Fun Addict - El Shoegaze Bossa Nova (Sugarbush)

If you want something breezy & easy check out the lazy, hazy, psyched, dream pop of SCHIZO FUN ADDICT & their aptly entitled new LP El Shoegaze Bossa Nova on Sugarbush Records. A great listen start to finish.

Wizard Apprentice - I Am Invisible (Ratskin)

Loving the genuinely unique voice & compositional approach of Wizard Apprentice & her fresh DIY fusion of thoughtful lyrics and indie folk pop wrapped up in a minimal electronic body on RATSKIN Records.

Clan Caiman - Clan Camain (Em)

Micro dose your Tuesday with the tropical tinged, mildly odd yet warmly welcoming sounds of Clan Caimán and their souped up kalimbas, soporific surf sounds, psychedelic electro exotica and sleepy percussion on EM Records Osaka Japan

Fourth Kind - Fourth Kind (Omniverse)

Start your Monday with a 360 spin & a soul boy shimmy to the spaced out synths, broken beats and jazz powered, funktified future fusion of the great new Fourth Kind (Marc Mac) LP.

Klangriket - Tjarn (Piano and Coffee)

Short, sweet and on repeat. Check out the electronically blessed, Sunday suitable, piano rooted, neoclassical, ambient sounds of Klangriket (aka
Fabian Rosenberg) for piano and coffee records. Well recommended.
