The Slow Music Movement Blog

Mostly we put our daily recommendations here for the blog readers among you, although occasionally we go longform.
Reading about music is a bit like looking at pictures of food - not nearly half as much fun as getting involved, so we scribble a brief intro to hopefully whet your appetite but you're better off just hitting play. Not very "slow" I know but there's a lot of music to check these days & hopefully you'll find the recommendations a handy filter.
Trust your ears, not opinions.

Recommendations Round Up - 3/11/2018

Samurai Guru - Recalibrate (Alpha Pup)

There's been some great West coast beat releases recently &
Samurai Guru's laid back, interstellar lounging, jazz iced, spaced out future hop excursion for Alpha Pup Records is the pick of the bunch for me.

Sampology, Megan Christensen & Sam Stosuur - Middle Name Dance Tracks Vol 1 (Middle Name)

Oooozing Brisbane's blue skies the new Sampology & crew EP is chock full of sunshine boogie, soul & jazz licks, loose live house vibes & perfect to launch into the weekend with.

Tommy Guerrero - Road To Knowhere (Too Good)

I'm really enjoying the new Tommy Guerrero album. Full of tropically funktified, Afro soul searching, jazz iced vibes and his trade marked simple but hypnotic grooves on Too Good Records.

Yoshinori Hayashi - Ambivalence (Smalltown Supersound)

Cheerfully ignoring structural norms
Yoshinori Hayashi carves out his own genre defying, jazz checking, quirkily arranged, played, splayed, frayed, accessibly far out electronic experimentalism for Smalltown Supersound.

Takao - Stealth (Em Records)

Great new age of New Age vibes with attitude from Takou on
EM Records Osaka Japan. Floating ethereal electronic fusion designed to connect with your auditory cortex rather than just wash over it harmlessly.
