Dub techno is a wonderful thing, & it's great to hear percussionist & multi-instrumentalist Phil Stroud take the genre into new, softer edged territory for Free Spirits. He also throws in some new age vibes, peak time raw tribal house & ends with a desolate ambient ode to the Australian bush fires to cap a fine fine eclectic mini-LP.

This album became a vessel for a deeper exploration into space and the creation of artificial sonic eco systems.

I explored blending different time feels, programmed and organic elements and both electronic and acoustic instruments with the goal of creating a cohesive aesthetic which produces a unique feeling.

My hope is to immerse the listener into an abstract environment and create an experience which feels comfortable, yet still exotic to this world.
