WHAT THE COVER LOOKS LIKE:
WHAT THE RELEASE NOTES SAY:
Artist Willis Earl Beal’s new EP – follow-up to 2018’s hushed and beautiful LP “Alms” – displays a pairing down of elements. Sparse guitar refrains, ambient keyboards, strings, piano, rap, electronics and mournful vocals are given space to breathe and move at their own gently-unfolding pace. Unlike many EPs this feels genuinely epic. The listener is invited on a journey that reveals itself to be incredibly tender and beautiful.
