Joy Guidry - Almost There (Whited Sepulchre)

A restless, boundary hammering musical soul it's great to hear Guidry suddenly dropping a cultured slice of mind cleansing ambient music, possibly to assist with the cerebral damage caused by her daring, accomplished, if somewhat raucous recent LP. Let's hope she keeps mellowing with age. anthéne & Simon McCorry - Subtle Risings (Oscarson)

This is perhaps my favourite track from the new collaborative LP from anthéne and Simon McCorry. The LP is consummately played and crafted as you'd expect from these two, but as a whole it's a touch too intense for our "let it all wash over you" ambient ways but this track is a mellow gem & don't let me put you off checking what is undoubtedly a great LP.

Otoha Manaka - Forest Light (MUltiverse)

Japan's Otoha Manaka sounds like a gentle soul if her music is anything to go by. Composing and playing from a young age, here she decides to harmonise with the sounds of nature and rather like a woodland pixie she blends right into her surroundings, at one with the flora and fauna.

​Livir - Restons caché.es (Self Release)

This is a really accomplished debut EP from gently experimental electroacoustic due Livir. Whether they're going the full ambient, slowtronic or crunchier bass heavy beats there is a quality and "je ne sais quois" to their music. I'm now following with interest to hear what comes next. Peter Broderick obviously had a mum, but now I know where he got his musical inclinations and talent from as they both appear on this new single with Selah Broderick eloquently reciting some poetic, matter of fact introspection which is the icing on  the gently pulsing production & percussion courtesy of her now not so little boy.
