WHAT YOUR EARS SAY & WHAT THE COVER LOOKS LIKE
WHAT WE SAY
Trying to make sense of his real, imagined & revised 90s holiday memories, Memorex chooses a suitably hazy, lo-fi vaporwave Balearic frame to turn his reminiscing into a simplistic yet sunny, ice cream licking, sand dispersing, factor 20 smearing summer soundtrack for Dream Chimney.
WHAT THE RELEASE NOTES SAY
Only a short time ago Memorex debuted on the first Dream Chimney release “Demo Tracks Vol. 1” with the stunning and instant classic track “Atlas”. We are now very happy to present the follow up album here as Dream Chimney’s fifth official release “Hyper France”.
I wanted to make music to get back to the feelings I had during my summer vacations as a child. Like many other kids in France in the nineties', it was made of endless highway rides, listening to the same pop songs on the radio over and over again, often interrupted by traffic announcements and commercials. Bring together these influences, write dumb lyrics with cheesy melodies over it, just to relive those weird moments that you became nostalgic of, to the point where it confuses your memory and you wonder if they ever happened.
