The Slow Music Movement Blog

Mostly we put our daily recommendations here for the blog readers among you, although occasionally we go longform.
Reading about music is a bit like looking at pictures of food - not nearly half as much fun as getting involved, so we scribble a brief intro to hopefully whet your appetite but you're better off just hitting play. Not very "slow" I know but there's a lot of music to check these days & hopefully you'll find the recommendations a handy filter.
Trust your ears, not opinions.

Hari Sima - solo En Occidente (Ojetos Perdidos)

What Your Ears Say & The Cover Looks Like

What We Say

Guiding his star gazing ambient electronica with a kosmische rudder & anchoring it with earthly percussive sounds, the new LP from Hari Sima for Objetos Perdidos is a wonderfully rhythmic, New Age tinged, daydreamy listen. Thanks to Twisted Soul for the tip.

What The Release Notes Say

Hari Sima is the alias of Paco León (Güiro Meets Russia/Astropáramo), behind which he hides his most ambient and experimental side. After his solo debut in 2020, "Fluido Tiempo" (Abstrakce Records), he presents "Solo en Occidente", an LP where sequences of modular synthesizers, melodies and ethnic percussion combine to mix a palette of sounds that goes through ambient, fourth world and kosmische musik.

The concept of the album stems from the social isolation and loneliness of our current way of life. Inspired by the close reality of this musician, he claims the daily life of the rural environment in which he lives as a way of escape from the vortex of society, making it evident in each cut of the album. With it, Hari Sima, raises the need to get out of society to feel further away from loneliness.
