WHAT WE SAY
The jazz is flowing this week with the arrival of the fruits of Greg Foat's pre-pandemic Finnish recording session in a snow covered cabin, with the result an anything but frosty, diverse fusion of deep late night spacey grooves & smoother sunnier jams for Jazzaggression Records.
WHAT THE RELEASE NOTES SAY
“Improvised beat-laden jazzy soundtrack jams in this UK meets Finland rendezvous “
Our latest recording features renowned UK pianist Greg Foat with a Finnish rhythm section consisting of Jazzaggression profiles Aleksi Heinola on drums and Teemu Åkerblom on bass.
Recorded in a small cabin in snowy pre-covid Norway in the winter of 2020. These 8 atmospheric beat-laden instrumentals are ultimately a tribute to cats. The trio built up an improvised, spontaneous jam formula, featuring a jazzy backbone with Greg’ solos and harmonics laid out utilizing the new Moog grandmother accompanied with Fender Rhodes and the Roland JX-8P synthesizer.
