Civilistjävel! - Fyra platser (Felt)

If you've been checking the TSMM playlists you might have already stumbled across Civilistjävel!. If not then dive into the edgy ambience, intricate sound design, cinematic singer songwriting & chopped & screwed dub techno of the full EP. There's beauty in the shadows if you care to look.

1k Flowers - Balanced (Unguarded)

Having already extolled the virtues of 1k Flowers in a singles round up & the radio show, but I came back to the EP recently & was struck by what a start to finish ambient rollercoaster this young Berliner's EP is. Light & shade, weightless electronica to density & intensity - it's all there & all consummately produced. Strap in & hold tight.

Darren Harper - Sown (Dewtone Recordings)

Another EP that I've been coming back to when I've been in need of some relaxing electronica since its mid-March release is this really pleasant EP from Darren Harper. There's a soothing quality & pleasing simplicity to all the tracks which just hit the spot after a hard day in the headphones or office.

Hiroshi Yamori - Demuzi (Self Release)

Hiroshi Yamori is a new Japanese producer who is 3 years and now 3 releases into his electronic music releasing career and he's already mellowing with age. On this latest EP he ditches his frenetic IDM tendencies to concentrate on more ambient and downtempo modular moods & creative use of found sound to both bubbly & balmy ends.

Aerial2k - Milk (Self Release)

It's something of an electronicfest today & up last, but not least is Aerial2k, a promising young New Zealand producer who makes all is own synth sounds from scratch & then hurls them around the studio to create mostly good natured, restless soundscapes that aren't afraid to let out a some low frequency growls on occassion. One to watch.
