The Slow Music Movement Blog

Mostly we put our daily recommendations here for the blog readers among you, although occasionally we go longform.
Reading about music is a bit like looking at pictures of food - not nearly half as much fun as getting involved, so we scribble a brief intro to hopefully whet your appetite but you're better off just hitting play. Not very "slow" I know but there's a lot of music to check these days & hopefully you'll find the recommendations a handy filter.
Trust your ears, not opinions.

WHAT THE COVER LOOKS LIKE:

WHAT WE SAY:

Another branch of folk's evolutionary tree for you today. Black Brunswicker made good use of his post emigration quarantine time in Manchester by recording this 7 track ambient folk fusion ode to his new grey and green Lancashire surroundings. If you need a mid-week lay down then this is for you.

WHAT YOUR EARS SAY:

WHAT THE RELEASE NOTES SAY:

In September, I took big chance by leaving my job and my home to move to Manchester with my partner. We moved here so that my partner could continue her education and to experience something different. While it wasn't an ideal time to move between continents in the midst of a worldwide pandemic to a country facing strict lockdown measures as the virus rises, we've managed settle in create a home together.

These tracks were recorded during the 14 day quarantine period Michol and I underwent after arriving in Manchester. They're named after some of the small outings we've been on and day dreams for future trips for better days to come.

Recorded using a Harmony acoustic guitar, a Digidelay, a DL4, and an LR Baggs reverb.

Backing vocals on The Pennines - Ethan Helfrich
Postcard Artwork Manipulation - Ethan Helfrich
