Matthew Clugston aka Mattr, the Birmingham born, London based electronic music producer, has just released a new two track single, and is back in the blog. The new single is a two-track affair that artfully combines start-of-club/mixtape beats with after-the-club, "what day is it?" atmospherics to fine effect.

"Burnt" eases its way into existence with introductory aplomb - the percussion to come subtly hinted at before revealing its rhythmic skeleton, coupled with some consummate sound design that slowly evolves into a warm, astral hug for the beats. It's one of those tracks primarily designed for headphones rather than clubs, but due to some subtle, almost subconscious refrains, if dropped at the right moment to an emotional crowd, would bring a tear to many an eye.

"Walk" follows in similar territory but despite some low-end rumbling doesn't even get past the club cloakrooms until the second half, Mattr initially turning up the ambient pads to eleven, before a mid-track breakdown ushers in some modular twinkling and gradually building low-gravity layers that psilocybin-free, microdose your mood and awareness. It's a beautifully crafted double-bubble single, get involved.
