One last quickie from me. Filhos are Brazilian musicians and producers Guilherme Granado & Bruno Abdala who, after years of friendships and occasional live collaboration, have finally bridged their geographical challenges to realise a collaborative project for Sucata Tapes, a sub-division of the ever weird and wonderful Discrepant label.

The result is a far out, funky and fluid transmission that is informed as much by vintage psychedelic sounds and Afro Brazilian roots music as it is by funky old school hip hop breaks, krautrock and jazz. Samples do battle with bass, vibraphone and violas, whilst sci-fi soundtrack vibes and cosmic synths alternate between star gazing and looking deep within. If free flowing, funktified and lysergic beat tapes are you thing then you’ll have a new favourite, if not then turn on and discover a whole new world.

Find Filhos adding some lysergic bump to the Slow Hop Playlist.
