After tentatively announcing his existence in 2020 with his first singles, Yoni Mayraz really hit the ground running in 2023 with a well received LP for London's evergreen Astigmatic Label, which rightly catapulted him into some of Europes best jazz festivals and venues. This year he's got a new crew: man about London jazz town Tom Driessler on bass, and London based Portuguese drummer Zoe Pascal, and he's just fired the starting gun on his new album.

Mayraz's simple but sampleable refrain gets the ball rolling in mellow but deliberate fashion, but it's not long before arguably the star of this particular track - Pascal, starts skittering his drums, signalling his intent to synergistically bless the track with as many touches as possible whilst joining funk forces with Driessler to get this track grooving like it was '72 all over again.

Mayraz for his part has got his synths set to vibe, content to sit back and ride the compelling riddim, embellishing the groove with his succinct phrasing, cosmic chords and astral jazz vibes, adding the sprinkles just where they're needed and elevating the track to a higher plain - pure vibes. Bring on the LP already.
