Pete Standing Alone - hay song (Self Release) [Alt-Pop]

Pete Standing Alone was a central figure in a Canadian documentary Circle of the Sun, the name of a track on a Boards of Canada album that samples the main documentary character's voice, and now the name of an enigmatic, fruit loving female producer from the home of North American reason and sanity - Canada. She started making music in 2024, and has hit the ground running, "hay song" being the third, and in my opinion the finest, of the four fine singles she's released since then.
Starting off in an ambient pop vein, her vocal floats enticingly over bowed strings and machine sounds, a most pleasing and patient intro until some cultured beat science enters the fray to offer skeletal percussive support. But she's not finished yet, the beats smartly double time into vaguely club ready form in the track's second half, the arrangement building in intensity layer by synth and vocal layer to quite the finale. Ooof - talent alert, keep an eye on her.
