The cover for Packaging's self titled album, showing the two band members in yellow raincoats rowing a small boat on a dark, cling film covered body water. The word "PACKAGING" is visible in the top right corner.

Seattle's Daniel Lyon and Daniel “Connor” Birch both have musical form with Spirit Award and Flaural respectively, but not ones for resting on their laurels they've joined forces to forge a new force for musical good in the area - Packaging. They're charting a genre fluid course through krautrockin', dream poppin', synth swirling, unashamedly trippin' territory, not to mention calling in some choice collaborators for their forthcoming album

Daniel Lyon and Daniel “Connor” Birch aka Packaging, in yellow jackets stand in an underpass with blurry lights. One faces away, the other looks forward. Mood is mysterious.

Coming just at the right time, as people return to the office, "On Holiday" aims to recreate those lazy, hazy days of summer spent soaking up pastures new with your special other. Kicking off with some suitably lazy beats, it's not long before some suitably bucolic keys enter the fray suggesting that being as it's 11am it's time to get out of bed, whilst the gentle guitar picking opens the window to your idyllic get away.

The slowly swelling synths slide off the duvet as the softly spun vocals come in clad just in underwear and your t-shirt with breakfast on a tray, immediately sending the synths to new heights off emotion and intensity, closely followed by the drums and guitar; the increasingly psychedelic sounds, and probably a few pheromone's, swirling around the room, telling you that the love and vacation stars have aligned. It's a fine slice of patiently building, dreamy synth pop and deserves your attention.

Make sure you also check out the other singles that have been teasing the album too, whether it's the propulsive microdosed indie pop-rock of, "Always Calling", the amphetamine post punk of, "Running Through The Airport" or the hazy uptempo motorik-jangle of, "In Your Pocket" there's a lot to like and it bodes well for October 10th's self-titled album.
