Ozzie Luz has been ploughing a distinctive artistic path for a number of years now and since 2024 in musical form. Only three singles into their journey, there is a pleasing singularity at play and something of an evolutionary leap with "Friendemies".
This latest single is their most fully formed and purposeful transmission yet. An hurried, yet steady 4/4 rhythm sets the tone and there's a pleasing early house bassline to give the track a bit of energy and attitude despite the low tempo. It doesn't take long for things to get hazy with lysergic electronic tones and detailing buzzing around the soundscape and some distorted guitar combining to give this tune a welcome psychedelic air.
What really sets the track apart though is the simple and pure message delivered with that distinctive Swedish accent that cuts through the life's bullshit and backstabbing with its unarguably truth. Couple that with some twinkling synth tones and guitar progressions that imbue an almost Balearic, end of night emotional vibe at times and it's quite a heady brew. Well recommended.
