Mosaicist - Waves of summer grass (Evergreen) [Ambient]

Details are thin on the ground, but Mosaicist is a seemingly shy, new-generation ambient producer from the UK, with a fondness for creating ambient music that combines field recordings, found objects and electroacoustic elements. He started releasing music in 2025 and has hit '26 running with an album on the similarly newly minted Evergreen label.
The album title is a line from a haiku by Japanese poet Basho, and that written seed has echoed through the years to bloom into an ambient album on a different continent. Inspired, Mosaicist has taken the line literally and headed out to Southern English chalk grasslands with his sound recording equipment and, I would imagine, hit various music shops to collect an array of instruments made from various grass species - bamboo flutes, wind chimes and the like.
Unsurprisingly, the album is a gentle, pastoral affair. The sounds of birds, insects and wind float through the recordings to give your living space that outdoors-indoors vibe, and a suitably ecosystemic approach to playing and production was adopted. The synth pads are warm, their glow encouraging vegetative growth, and a light studio touch was adopted so no environmental damage was done during the recording process. Consequently, the recording oozes planetary wellness and guilt-free serenity for its inhabitants; something that we could do with more of. It's a fine ambient debut album from a new face on the ethereal block and bodes well for our listening future.
