It's always nice to stumble across some backwater trippers peering with amusement and amazement through expanded reality tunnels and ploughing singular psychedelic music paths, so say hello to Queensland's Meadow Argus, and just pray that the police don't raid their studio.

The core duo are Jevan Cole who seems to be a dab hand at stringed instruments and various machines and Ellen Dalton who leads from the front with some great vocals, keys and French horn for good measure! On the new LP they've recruited some local musicians they found lying about the studio after the last party to add some extra vocals, electric piano, organ and tape drone. It's quite the ensemble.
They've got a pleasingly eclectic take on the psychedelic condition too. The ghosts of the twentieth century acid folk and double dropping folk rock pioneers loom large, and let's face it that's no bad thing, but there are plenty of creative juices flowing to give things a personal twist or three. Alongside those classic sounds are some Madchester nods, sci-fi b-movie ambient interludes, good natured West Coast pop tickles, k-hole soundtracking ambient Americana and an intense, somewhat doomy, decidedly hazy drone rock outro.
The LP is a cultured trip through lysergic lands, so hop on the bus and give these DIY outsiders some love, they deserve it.
