Preferring to hide in the digital and New York shadows, information about Maxwellbean is scant, but he's developed an interesting line in urban electronica meets futuristic hip house over the last couple of years for the intriguingly named Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow; until he went to Berlin that is.

Whilst studying in Berlin, MWB obviously hit the city's clubs hard, and managed to soak up the darker, hard techno sounds that predominate in several of the city's iconic venues, culminating in his recent Eingang EP of Berlin primed electronic bangers, that would sound good on a big system.
However, dedicated ambient diggers should head straight to the end of the EP for quite the low gravity, lysergic floater - "Switcalm", which is seemingly designed for after the after party when the recently ingested chemicals are still swirling around your cerebral cortex, sleep is elusive and you need a soothing audio balm to soundtrack your hypnagogic state. A warm rhythmic tonal motif gets the ball rolling, a steady anchor in the otherwise gaseous swirl of vintage sounding electronica that has been refitted for modern purpose. There's almost a subaquatic vibe going on , albeit somewhat murky extraterrestrial waters that would sound just great at 4pm on a Kreuzberg sofa after a long night. Sink right in.
