Kennif started releasing her solo music around six years ago, her first release appearing on a joint Bandcamp page with other half Keith Kennif (aka Helios & Goldmund). Now there's an ambient dream team if ever there was one; which got me thinking. I know that Anita Tatlow is partnered with Antarctic Wastelands, another couple with serious ambient form. Are there any other ambient couples around? Answers in the comments sections please.
Anyway back to Kennif (H). She's been another regular visitor to TSMM's pages and playlists, and her newest single for the burgeoning ambient department of the Nettwerk label is the thing that daydreams are made of. I can't lie a lot of her ambient work is a bit too full bodied and dense for my generally more delicate, minimal and space loving ways, but "For Forever" is just the sort of soft edged, soothing, quite possibly palliative ambient music that I welcome with open arms.
Here her angelic vocals float down from a seemingly cloud based vocal booth to be met by the warm electronic currents drifting up from terra firma, creating a pleasant thermodynamic ambient drift that is then dimpled by rays of piano sunshine. It's a thing of relaxing joy and I urge you to sink into it.
