There's not much to report about Ext Sleep, mainly because he hasn't revealed much about himself, but it appears he's a drum playing, ambient, electronica and glitch producer from Cologne, who seems to collaborate regularly with Julian Schäfer, an equally biographically shy producer who enjoys minimalism, coding, synths and the universe, and you can't argue with that really.

The pair have just released another joint EP where they alternate tracks rather than collaborate as such, and Ext Sleep's "Aoba" track is the standout for me, closely followed by Ext Sleeps more ambient minded, "KÅ«", which closes proceedings, although if you like exploring ambient electronic realms then you should check out Schafers more insistent tracks as well.
Starting with a gentle oscillation, "Aoba" starts to build up the ambient layers, and is soon given extra impetus by some bowed strings, giving the initial passage an earth orbiting neoclassical vibe. But before you know it some bioluminescent synths enter the fray, aided by some quivering acoustic guitar that helps disrupt the darker currents below. It's emotive, shapeshifting, patiently evolving ambient electroacoustic music with great attention to sonic detail and classy production. Oh, and don't forget that ambient closing track too.
