Course were formed in Chicago during 2019, and compromised several of the city's well travelled musicians who came together to forge a winding, live synth pop sound that isn't really going to ruffle any feathers, but has more depth than most. From what I can gather then project is more driven by Jessica Robbins these days, and is an interesting evolution from her more acoustic singer songwriter origins, to a more forward looking electronic augmented sound.

Their latest single is "Hue Mirror" and it's a refreshing excursion into lighter than air pop fusion that drifts through the speakers like a welcome breeze on a hot day. A synth cushioned minimal piano refrain gets the ball rolling before Robbins vocals float effortlessly over the top surveying the melodic terrain from rarefied heights. So far, so simple and effective, but just wait for the guitar refrain and hazy, shoegazy slightly chillier distortion to add a welcome, perfectly judged atmospheric dissonance to the track's inherent sweetness. It's a beautifully crafted slice of dream pop that urges you put up your tired feet and hit repeat.
